These leathers came to us in this condition after their owner had a significant crash at the track. They were certainly beyond repair, so his friends decided to chip in and surprise him with a gift to aid in his recovery. At least now he can put his feet up and recover in style. It was[…]
We were thrilled to be asked to make some furniture for the funky Moto Zoooma’s Espresso Bar in Bowen Hills. What better place to enjoy a great coffee than one that is surrounded by Ducati motorcycles at Eurotwin. The stools are made from various pieces of slightly scuffed motorcycle leathers to suit the theme of[…]
This beautiful clutch purse and coat hanger were recently commissioned by a bride. The brides only request was that we used fabric from her mother’s and grandmother’s wedding gowns. Designed and made from scratch, the fabric was lightened to match the bride’s gown perfectly and a touch of bling was also added to match her shoes. Now the bride[…]
Oil drum furniture is the ultimate petrolhead/mancave interior design item and we’ve been looking for an excuse to make some for ages; so when Northstar Yamaha asked for some for their new showroom at Northlakes, we jumped at the chance. The seats feature a recycled patchwork leather top with the Yamaha tuning fork logo in[…]
The timber of these deck chairs was in great condition but the fabric was making them old and tired. The owner was about to move into a new house but they certainly didn’t look like they fitted in. So, rather than having to buy a whole new outdoor setting we recovered them in classic navy and now[…]
The latest leather related recycling project for Stitchsmith was to repurpose a set of Alpinestars S1 Supermoto leathers to customise a workshop stool. The suit was cut off the wearer by the paramedics following a self described “loss of talent” at the racetrack and have since been replaced by a new set, it’s great to see[…]
Our recycled leather Ottoman always gets favourable comments from fellow racers. Turning your worn out leathers into a beautiful and functional item is a great way to preserve the memories of days spent at the track… or that time you went on an ambulance ride! This started off life as a one-piece suit that had seen[…]
We love motorcycle racing, but we don’t like crashing. Crash damaged leathers can be recycled into useful items, we made these key fobs from scraps left over after we used the leathers to cover a workshop stool. The distressed finish is real road rash from sliding along race-tracks! Share
